The key principle on which social recovery rest in our practice which is that recovery is something that is re-generated by the person looking for, or in recovery. This deep respect for an individual’s ability and resourcefulness in finding their own path to recovery lies at the heart of stages social recovery.<br />Social Recovery is systemic. Recovery recognises that recovery develops and takes place in a series of human interactions or a lack of interactions.<br />Social Recovery always is grounded in action and the accountability of our course work. All Social Recovery sessions ground in agreed action that we will attempt to take. We create mutually agreed goals based on truth, trust , consent and feedback within the sessions or singularly so that they have an external process by which to evaluate the consequences of actions taken, or not taken, on our own recovering lives.<br />The agenda for a social recovery session always flows from the Stager (Ten Stage Recovery).<br />Accessing meditational resources. Social Recovery has become an invaluable gateway to resources that may be practical – such as local meetings – web-based meetings, google hangouts and webinars. The emphasis is on the taught course to add structure to develop a relationship to and interact with these recovery resources.<br />Social Recovery is consciously designed between students and guides (those that have completed the course). The emphasis is on the students needs and requirements. The solid and clear design of social recovery provides a strong container which, adjusted as and when we and students agree positive solutions providing a robust and powerful place for us to be present.<br />Social Recovery is applicable across all models and approaches to recovery. As SR (social recovery)has no agenda other than to assist and support others to find and develop recovery, whatever that might be to the student, they work with whatever particular recovery pathway a student is developing at any given time.<br />SR are not experts in treatment nor are they offering it. SR is an addition to the existing environment and should be seen as new combination of tools which performs a particular role and function outside of medical or therapeutic treatments but often in alliance with them.<br />What is its impact? People receiving social recovery report increased feelings of confidence in their approach to and experience of recovery, a deepening of their belief in their own existing and future capabilities and positive actions. Also reported are feelings of being respected and individuated, of not being cogs in a system or recipients of a programme of treatment. There is an the increased sense of the possibility of self determination. Because the messages we get from our intuition, from our child within buried in our basement, are calling us out into the unknown – and we are naturally scared of the unknown. That's just the way it is.<br /><br /> <br /><br />So, if we are scared to make a choice: to quit a group, to start new recovery, to leave abusive relationships – and we know we must make this choice or live an unfulfilled recovery – then THAT is the choice that will lead us to freedom.<br /><br />It’s not that we aren't intuitive – it’s that we are scared of our intuition.<br /><br />We spend most of our time at THE STAGES working with people to get them to make the choice that scares them the most. Getting to that decision point is the work. There are stories on top of stories on top of stories and beliefs that hold folks back from making that choice. Before anything of greater value can come into our lives we must begin to believe we are worthy of the trust of our child within, circumstances and our life that have greater value. If we are keeping ourselves stuck in an abusive or toxic relationship with ourselves, this will need to begin to change. that is our thoughts and belief that we are worthy of happiness within our child's interior relationship with ourselves.<br /><br /> <br /><br />If we lack the recovery we desire, the belief that we are more valuable is at the core to changing our present situation. Once we have the thoughts and beliefs of greater self-esteem through contact with our freed child within, then we can begin to take action.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Action from this place may look like breaking up with persons we are in a toxic relations with.<br /><br /> <br />It is in our thoughts of unworthiness that have created a life that is out of harmony with what we truly desire. Slowly, day by day, as we change our thoughts from unworthiness to worthiness, from doubting our child withins messages and intuition to believing, we will begin to take subtle different actions. These actions will eventually add up one at a time until we don't even recognise our life anymore.<br /><br /> <br /><br />We all want something to change in our lives. We want to grow.<br /><br /> <br /><br />We want to evolve. We want understand. We desire freedom.<br /><br /> <br /><br />We must begin by acknowledging our child withins worth. And if you start to believe their doubt, then soon you will begin to take action from that belief in doubt and BAM – that belief in doubt manifests into reality. Not because it’s true, but because the belief became your dominant thought pattern and that thought pattern influenced your actions and your actions produced the outcome.<br /><br /> <br /><br />The outcome of our lives begins within us not a self help group. <br /><br /> <br /><br />If we water our dreams with doubt, then we think doubtful thoughts, take doubtful action and our lives become a living testament to and proof of our belief. Then, what many people do is take this “proof” and use it to further justify their initial belief. But you see, what they’re missing this whole time is the fact that their initial thoughts of doubt are what created the outcome. They unknowingly participated in their own demise.<br /><br /> <br /><br />But, this can be prevented by hanging with the proper community of people. Let us spend time with people who uplift us, who encourage us towards our recovery and who challenge our thought patterns. Let us not surround ourselves with people who always agree with us, but rather people who support our growth by challenging our beliefs and helping us break through to new mental recovery ground so that our lives may be enriched as a by-product.<br /><br /> <br /><br />Look around. Who are you spending time with? And more importantly, who are you believing? If you have a recovery in your world, do you believe people who are living their recovery and thus know the TRUTH about what’s possible, or do you take advice from people who aren’t living their recovery and thus will tell you it’s not possible?<br /><br /> <br /><br />Who you spend time with and who you believe are major factors in determine whether you are successful in your recovery or not. Our aim should be to spend time with people who are practicing compassion, who believe in us, who challenge us to go to the next level and who inspire us. Life is far too short to hang with people who are always negative and who want you to stay bitter and pissed off like them. It takes a lot of humility to admit when we’re wrong and to grow past our limiting beliefs. By generating feelings in the body through the mind, I incorrectly believe that I am ‘experiencing’ something, some event, some lost moment which is long gone, or yet to come. This is not at all what living is, this is daydreaming (in past or future).<br /><br />So breathing, breath by breath is no more an idea, it’s more like a sanity-preserving mechanism, or face the ever-increasing insanity. And chasing mind stuffs like judgments, fears, and other bullshit is also due to not been HERE, as in chasing those I am actually entering the past or the future thru different doors. because in any case, I am not here, breathing living in my body with body-awareness.<br /><br />So when and as I see myself wondering into the future or dwelling in the past, I stop, I breathe. I see/realize and understand, it is not living, because living means keeping the awareness in the present moment HERE, not past or future, unless I want to deliberately look into somethings from the past or into the future like planning an event or learning something from the past to apply the lessons here. Or will we see a life wasted and full of regret?<br /><br /> <br /><br />That kind of pain is far worse than the temporary pain of healing our child within. A strange thing happens to the child within when it’s hurt. It actually grows back stronger and with more self worth - for itself and others. What keeps us trapped is not our ability or desire to be accepted. No. What holds us back is the story we tell ourselves about the pain we've experienced in the past.<br /><br /> <br /><br />We’d have to be idiots not to see patterns emerge<br /><br /> <br /><br />Their are common themes and patterns with how people work out their childhoods now.<br /><br /> <br /><br />We experience pain and then make up a story about how it will ALWAYS be like this, or ALL MEN/WOMEN are cheaters, or how if one person rejects us that must mean the WHOLE WORLD has rejected us. Thoughts like this run deep. Not just in  relationships, but in our family. Our model of how to parent and parented were learned at home. How we grew up, the environment we were in and who was there directly affected and moulded how we see the world today. Many of the thoughts and behaviours we have aren't even our own. They are learned patterns that we picked up from others.<br /><br /> <br /><br />And so when we have these parental patterns in us, generalise about how the WHOLE world is, and then take ACTION from that belief... guess what happens? We produce a result that is in alignment with our belief. And then we prove the story we are telling ourselves to be true. We prove over and over again that the world is against us, or that all men/women are somehow faulty and can’t be trusted, or that we aren't worthy of trust.<br /><br /> <br /><br />So the question is, what story would you LIKE to live? And do you have the guts, balls, strength, inner resolve, determination, patience and faith to actually live that kind of life? Up until today you have been living a certain pattern and thinking that all of life is that way. But what if it were true that that wasn't how LIFE IS... but it’s how YOU ARE? What if that were true?<br /><br /> <br /><br />And what if, instead of waiting for life and/or others to change, you took your power back and changed yourself? What if you actually had the courage to stay open and risk being hurt again, not because the world is against you or because you aren't love-able, no, but because you want to live life WIDE open, with no regret having given it your all?<br /><br /> <br /><br />What new story do you want to tell yourself? Can you open up and trust again? Can you risk the temporary pain of hurt for the long term bliss of knowing you lived your life loudly and proudly on your terms, sharing as much recovery as you could?</span><br />
